Swanzey Covered Bridges Half Marathon

Labor Day weekend - what better time for a half marathon. We drove about 2 hours northwest to Swanzey, NH for a scenic 13.1 miles of rolling hills, four covered bridges, and some great support from Amy and Adam. Ehrin crushed his personal goal of 1:30 by finishing in 1:27:21, and April finsihed in an awesome 8:30 pace of 1:51:51. We are both quite sore today.

Boston Harbor Islands

On Saturday, we rented a 17' Triumph motorboat for the afternoon and took it out on the Boston harbor. It wa s an entirely different experience from sailing on the harbor -- much faster, windier, and wild. We beached on Lovells Island and enjoyed a tasty lunch while trying to make sure that the boat didn't go out to sea.

We also had the opportunity to dock at Little Brewster Island and walk around the Boston Lighthouse, the oldest lightouse in America. The island is staffed by two members of ther Coast Guard Auxillary, who provide free guided tours.
